Lunar Dust is an audiovisual journey through atomised digital imagery, sonic noise fields, and sensory illusion. Billy Roisz (video, electronics, cymbal) and dieb13 (turntables, DIY computer) explore and reveal pareidolia – the mind’s tendency to perceive familiar shapes or sounds in random sensory stimuli. A stream of seemingly random sounds and visuals gradually takes on a strange familiarity – glitches in the digital fabric evoke fleeting memories of places never seen. The soundscape emerges from particles of noise, a dense collage of textures fluctuating between harsh, abrasive tones and soft, drifting murmurs. Between the real and the imaginary, the viewer/listener finds themselves on dreamlike terrain.

Billy Roisz is a prominent figure in the experimental scene. Self-taught, she emerged from Vienna’s open DIY electronic and noise community. Her acclaimed work spans cinematic and pure audio pieces, transforming sound into vivid visual imagery through feedback video, video/sound interaction, and custom-built video synthesizers.

Dieter Kovačič aka dieb13 is a turntablist, composer, and multimedia artist with numerous releases and collaborations. He works with turntables, self-cut vinyl, and self-written software, and is the founder of the experimental music platform klingt.org.
